“If we do,” Tori pointed at herself then at Zig, “this again you have to actually put effort in our relationship. Last time all you did was go to the skate park and I know that it means a lot to you and everything but when we were going out you barely spent time with me.” Tori placed her hand on top of Zig’s hand and smiled slightly. Tori gently pushed his hand away and wrapped her arms around his waist. “I like you so much Zig. My feelings for you never went away.”
“Does this mean we’re back together?” Zig held back his smile until she gave a for sure answer. “My feelings for you are going strong.” Zig put his hand up to her face and looked her straight in the eyes. He wrapped his other arm around her. “I want you.” Zig moved closer to her face and smirked. He took a chance and kissed her. He kissed her for a bit before pulling away. “Tell me that you want this Tori. If you do, I am willing to do anything in the world to make you happy. I love to see you smile, and I love knowing that I make you happy. Tell me that you want to be together Tori.”
“Yes.” Tori smiled up at him. Before she could respond to Zig she felt his lips on hers. She kissed back and smiled into the kiss. Tori pulled away to look into Zig’s eyes. “I do.. I do want this. Zig, I want you to be my boyfriend.. again.” Tori grinned at him and hugged him tightly again. “You have no idea how happy I am right now.. I also promise I won’t become all obsessive again and post a bunch of messages all over your wall.” Tori laughed at that thought and got serious again. “This does mean that you have forgiven me right? For not coming to the dance?” Tori asked him.
Tori looked down and rubbed her arms. “I-I just. I really want to be with you but..” She hesitated and bit her lip. “What if the same thing happens again? What if you randomly break up with me again? I took me a long time to get over the break the time the first time. I don’t know how long it’ll take this time if it happens again.” Tori felt her eyes getting watery so she pinched the bridge of her nose to prevent herself from crying in front of him. “I just… I really want to be with you.”
Zig saw the sincerity in her eyes. “I won’t ever do that again. I was so fucking dumb to ever let you go.” Zig reached out and touched her arm. “I really want to be with you too.You make me so crazy, but in a good way.I understand that you don’t want to be hurt again, that’s understandable. I just can’t go on in my life, knowing that you are possibly going to find someone else. I don’t want to fade to the background of your life. I want to be the one Tori.”

Tori looked down at her feet and shaked her head. “I-I’m sorry, okay? I’m really sorry.” She quickly looked back up at Zig, “What? Of course I like you! I never stopped! This isn’t a joke, Zig. I really did want to go with you.” Tori placed her hand on Zig’s arm and squeezed it gently. “I do want to be friends with you. I told you that at The Dot the other day. Why can’t you see that I want to be your friend? I didn’t mean to miss the dance!” She kept her grip on Zig’s arm and stared at him. “Please forgive me.” she whispered.
Zig looked at Tori. “I can’t do this Tori.” Zig looked at the ground. “You drive me crazy. If I can’t have you, then we’ll be nothing at all. I can’t spend my life wondering what could be. I can’t do this Tor.” A tear started to roll down Zig’s cheek. He didn’t want to break down in front of her. He pulled the sleeve of his shirt down and wiped the tear off his shirt. He cleared his throat and looked at her. “You need to make a decision because I can’t do this. Whatever this is, I can’t do it. “
“Zig, please.” Tori looked up at him and waited for him to look at her. When she saw that he wasn’t planning on looking at her anytime soon she sighed. “I can explain. I didn’t mean to leave you hanging at this dance!” Tori got up off of the steps and attempted to look at Zig again. “I did want to go with you. I said yes for a reason. You were the one that I wanted to go with.” Tori sighed again and rubbed her arms to make the goosebumps go away. “I really wanted to come. I picked out this dress.. But other things got in that way and I couldn’t come. I know I should’ve texted you but I couldn’t.”
“You think you can just show up here, with your hair done, a perfect dress and just batt your beautiful eyelashes and every thing with be ok? That’s not the way it works.” Zig wanted to forgive her, but he just couldn’t. He wanted to walk away from her. “I bet you don’t even like me. I bet you ran back to your friends and told them everything I said and this is some kind of joke. You don’t ever want to be friends with me, do you?” His voice was getting raspy and he was getting more and more upset. He didn’t know if he was angry, or sad. He just wanted to go home, get out of this place. Everything was going wrong for him and there was nothing he could do.
Tori slowly walked over to Zig. “Zig, I’m so sorry.” She could tell that Zig was mad at her because he wouldn’t even look at her. “Please look at me.” Tori watched as he continued to keep his head down. She sighed heavily and sat on the steps. She was hoping that he would sit down next to her and not leave. “I’m really sorry. I feel horrible. I know I agreed to go with you and everything.. It’s just that something came up and I couldn’t get out of it.” Tori looked up at Zig. “Can you just sit next to me? It would kind of be easier that way…” She looked at what Zig was wearing and smiled slightly. “You look nice by the way..”
“I can’t even Tori. I stood there waiting forever for you. After the other day, when I poured my damn soul out to you, and you still did this to me.” Zig continued to look straight. He didn’t want to look at her because he knew. He knew that if he looked down into those gorgeous eyes and that pretty face, he would forgive her. He was so emotional on the inside and he didn’t want to put that on display for everyone to see. He wanted to go home and lay in his bed and cry. “I just can’t believe you did this. I mean I asked you. If you didn’t want to go, you should have just said it then.” Zig put his hands in his pockets. “Thanks. It’s whatever”
